Introduction: Message From Our Founder

I’ve been part of the crypto world since 2012, when I first discovered Bitcoin and was captivated by its decentralized, pseudonymous ethos. While I’m thrilled to see how far crypto has come, I’m disheartened by the direction it’s taken. Back then, our community was united around “stacking sats” and challenging the traditional financial system. The rallying cry was “#HODL,” and we celebrated milestones like the defeat of the infamous “Bear Whale.” Today, the spotlight seems to shine on centralized exchanges (CEXs) pushing monopolistic control, stablecoin issuers enabling questionable practices (money laundering), and memecoin promoters glamorizing speculative gambling.

I agree with Murad’s critique of the toxic ICO and VC landscape, but I strongly disagree that zero-utility memecoins are the solution. In 2024, I founded WHAT to address these industry challenges while staying true to the core values of transparency and decentralization that first drew me to crypto. In the following sections, we’ll dive deeper into our mission and vision. For now, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for taking the time to read this message and giving me the chance to contribute to the community I’ve called home for over a decade. It’s been an incredible journey.
